A non-profit club of sea kayak paddlers dedicated
to the safe and unencumbered use of our Nation's waters.

Adirondack Pirate Paddlers is a non-profit club open to all paddlers interested in cruising our lakes and coastlines.

Membership in Adirondack Pirate Paddlers is open to all paddlers interested in sharing the diverse  activities associated with this sport.

The Mission of Our Club...

...to encourage and support recreational paddling opportunities within and outside the New York State Adirondack region, as well as to network members, plan trips, highlight launch sites, and emphasize safety. Adirondack Pirate Paddlers has frequently planned day trips during all four seasons on the various Adirondack flat waters. Our trips encourage the use of sea kayaks and at least spray covers because of distances covered and extreme conditions which may be encountered (e.g. wind, waves, rain, and snow). Our prime goal is to have fun. All paddlers can join us on our trips with the full understanding that each paddler is responsible for their own safety.

(Note: To be part of a Pirate event, you must realize waters in the Adirondacks can be extremely dangerous, with winds in excess of 30 mph and waves approaching 4 feet high. Even though the event might begin in mirror smooth waters, the weather can change rapidly. You must prepare for the worst, by being physically fit, carry appropriate safety/rescue equipment (e.g. life jacket, spray skirt, pump, paddle bag) and wearing clothes appropriate for the water and air temperature. You must fully accept that you are responsible for your own safety. The Adirondack Pirates are good Samaritans and will always attempt to help those in distress (whether they are blokes, wenches, or damsels), but they cannot be liable if problems occur. )
